Thanks to strong community ties and a very generous donation, students at Wright Elementary School have some new books to read.
The Scrips Howard Foundation and local TV station KJRH donated $1,000 to Wright for new books, benefitting its pre-K through fifth-grade students.
The Scripps Howard Foundation, based in Cincinnati, Ohio, is the philanthropic arm of the E.W. Scripps Company. With a special commitment to the regions where Scripps does business, the foundation helps build strong communities and improve the quality of life through support of sound educational programs, strong families, vital social services, enriching arts and culture, and inclusive civic affairs.
KJRH has been doing a book drive campaign where they collect books for four deserving schools. Over the past two years, they have given books to Tulsa's Reading Partners and to CAP Tulsa, however, this year they wanted to offer books to four area schools.
Wright is grateful to be one of the schools benefitting and is very thankful for the generous donation.
Wright is always working to build its community ties and provide for its students, and you can help. Click here for more information on how to donate and partner with Wright Elementary School.
