Wright is a multicultural, multilingual school where each student learns to embrace and respect differences. We teach and nurture the whole child so that all gain self-confidence and are empowered with the tools needed to leave Wright Elementary, inspired, confident, and ready to achieve ambitious goals.
The staff at Wright Elementary School incorporate social emotional learning (SEU practices into their everyday academic curriculum. Creating high-quality learning experiences means educating the whole child by meeting his or her social, emotional, and academic needs. Social and emotional learning is the process through which children and adults acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions. With strong social and emotional skills, our students will be able to set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
Wright Elementary is a nurturing, student-centered learning environment that provides our scholars with opportunities to learn the social and academic skills necessary for college and career readiness. In addition to learning critical social and leadership skills, all students read, write, and engage in academic discourse, grounded in meaningful questions and relevant problems on a daily basis. Our school is a perfect example of how different people can work together to create a productive, positive, and rewarding atmosphere in which our students support each other.
