Welcome back! We are very excited to be back at school and to work with each of your children this year at Wright Elementary School. As always the first of the year is quite hectic and we want to make sure we are communicating as far in advance as possible.
Our office will be reopening on August 6th, so please call us or come by if you have any questions. We will be open from 8am until 3:30pm each day.
We also hope to see everyone at Meet the Teacher on Tuesday, August 18th between 4pm and 6pm.
Thank you to all the parents and students that voted on our uniform color shirts for this school year. Here is our current uniform information:
- Pants: Khaki or black pants, shorts, skirts, or capris. NO jeans/denim, NO leggings, NO cargo (pockets on the side)
- Shirts: Red, white, or navy blue polo or oxford shirt ONLY.
- Shoes: Shoes must be closed toe and have a closed heel.
- Friday Spirit Wear: Students may wear spirit shirts on Fridays with jeans.
First Days of School – August 20th and 21st
On the first two days of schools parents will be allowed to escort students to the gym and then on to their classrooms to help them drop off supplies and get settled. Parents will not be allowed upstairs until 7:40am and must leave by 8:05am so that students can begin their day.
Kindergarten will not go to the gym the first two days, but will have a check in table on the west entrance near the Kindergarten doors.
Morning arrival will remain the same as last year. This year we will be having breakfast in the classroom which means that students will be eating in their classrooms at 7:45am. Breakfast is free to all students.
Students may not enter the building before 7:15am. At 7:15am the cafeteria doors will open and students may enter and go directly to the gym. At 7:30am the students may begin entering through the front doors and will be directed to the gym.
Any student who arrives after 7:50am will need to come to the front office for a tardy pass.
Dismissal will remain the same. Teachers will escort students outside between 2:45pm and 2:55pm to their designated area under the awning where parents may pick them up. Bus riders, day care students, and after care students will go to their designated areas and be escorted out.
If your student is being picked up by a friend or family member that is not the usual pickup person, please call to notify the office in the morning so we can ensure they are on your pick up list. Also if your student needs to change how they go home, please call the office or notify the teacher in writing so we can ensure they are dismissed appropriately.
Supply lists will be available at Meet the Teacher. We will provide many supplies for students, but ask parents to provide some additional supplies. The lists will also be updated on the website by August 7th, so please check there for more information!
We are excited to have Karen Gilbert back as our parent facilitator this year! She will be here to assist parents and families in connecting with resources. If you have any needs for school supplies or uniforms please contact her beginning August 10th.
